Complaint Handling Procedure
Purpose and Scope
This procedure establishes the process for handling complaints regarding violations of ethical principles by authors, or breaches of ethical standards or improper performance of duties by reviewers and/or members of the editorial board of the journal “International Economic Policy.” It applies to issues related to plagiarism, improper use of materials, conflicts of interest, data manipulation, and other violations of academic integrity.
Procedure for Submitting a Complaint
A complaint must be submitted by email to the official email address of the journal “International Economic Policy” at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

The complaint must include the complainant’s contact details; a reference to the publication or a file containing the manuscript previously submitted to the editorial office; and a detailed, reasoned description of the alleged violation(s) of the rules and procedures applied in the editorial process of the journal “International Economic Policy.”
Anonymous complaints will not be considered.
Preliminary Review
The Editor-in-Chief appoints an authorized person to conduct a preliminary assessment of the complaint. Within 5 working days, the authorized person verifies the validity of the claims described in the complaint. Based on this assessment, the Editorial Board informs the complainant whether the complaint has been registered or rejected.
Consideration of the Complaint
To review the complaint, a commission of three independent experts is established. Where necessary to determine the circumstances, causes, and degree of responsibility of the parties involved, the commission has the right and, if required, the obligation to request additional materials and explanations; involve independent experts; and conduct consultations with all relevant parties.
The review period shall not exceed 30 calendar days.
Decisions and Measures
Following the review, the commission may adopt one of the following decisions: reject the complaint as unfounded; recognize the violation as minor and recommend corrections; recognize the violation as serious and take appropriate measures.
Protection of the Rights of the Parties
All parties to the dispute have the right to receive full information about the review process; to present their explanations and evidence; and to appeal the commission’s decision.
Appeals Procedure
The commission’s decision may be appealed within 14 days to an authorized official of the publisher (Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman). The authorized official considers the appeal within 10 working days. The decision of the authorized official is final.
The editorial board of the journal “International Economic Policy” undertakes to follow the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the European Association of Science Editors (EASE), and the journal’s principles of publication ethics.
